The Life on Al Daery
Almost every day, I take the bus from Al-Haram st. to AUC on the Ring Road, also known as Al-Da’ery. The window is the only means of entertainment, because it’s a gateway to another world. I love sitting next to the window on the bus so I always see what’s new through it. Al-Da’ery has its own life where it has its own paste, unique style; its own culture. There is a different life on it that most foreigners would not understand or relate to. However, it takes only one ride to be familiar with the Egyptian culture.
I took the photos in about seven days in different timings of the day. Some were taken at 7 a.m., 10 a.m., 4 p.m., and 8 p.m.
Since the beginning of the semester, I wanted to have my final project be culture related; therefore, I had decided to take pictures about the different standards and classes in the Egyptian society. But after taking several pictures, I realized that my photos were related to al-Da’ery.
