A Day in Her Life
I decided to choose Omo Hesham, the doorman’s wife for my assignment because she is of special interest to me. She is like no other doorman’s wife I have ever seen before. Her story goes like this; she is a mother of seven children; three married girls and four boys. She is also a grandmother because all her girls have children now; one of her grandchildren is living with her, he rarely sees his mother. Her husband on the other hand, has become too tired and old to carry on with the building’s work so she takes over most of the time. Her eldest son is sixteen years old and working in a supermarket beside his last year in school. The two young boys both go to school, while helping their parent’s in the building. Only one of her boys left school as well as many jobs because of his undesirable attitude. Through my photographs I would like to show her simple lifestyle, family, and environment. Even though my photographs show a lot of hardships, yet she is the most pleased and happiest person I have ever seen compared to others in similar situation.
